Wasted time here yesterday shopping for a used Hyundia. Multiple sales associates are new and they don't know anything about the cars, services, or warranty without searching google. The sales manager tried to add fees to a car that was advertised a price that included their already inflated fees. Tried to steal my trade at 22% less than what Carvana & Carmax would buy it for wholesale and likely going to gouge me on interest rate next before I walked out after multiple go arounds. Shop elsewhere if you value your time and money.

Overall experience was horrible. Every time there was a question the salesman had to walk away and ask his bosses leaving me alone 10 mins at a time. Never even saw a single vehicle. And it only addresses if I was financing through the company. Guess what? I was buying it out right. No need for them to "share" my information with their affiliates or third parties. Anyway, the finance guy went to go get someone. He came back with the sales manager "Rod", who right away started on me with the "I have been here 23 years, and NO one has ever had an issue with this"! He started talking over me in an aggressive manner, said I was being difficult and said I "must" sign the form to do business with them. There was no discussion about opting out other than I could put my phone number in the do not call list. Really? I finally said we were done and that they lost out on a sale. I got up and started walking out, the manager kept talking while walking me back to get my keys. Just kept talking and I told him we were done talking. He just kept right on talking and I told him to "shut the hell up" and leave me alone. Then he started in that he was a GROWN man and that he was going to call the police. Really? No aggression from me other than telling him to shut the hell up and leave me alone. I told him to go ahead as we continued walking into the building. He continued to talk all the way to the office. I got my keys. He was still mouthing off and I told him to go **** himself and walked out. I later got a call from the sales guy after I left to see if we could work it out. News flash Gettey Hyundai, I am not a customer and we have NO relationship. Next call and or text I get from them I am reporting since I am already on the do not call list. So, Gettey Hyundai if you had just taken the time to show me the law and how I could opt out from being harassed with your marketing, I probably would have signed the form. But no, your manager had to go act like a you know what. Management you should review your security videos to see that there was no aggression from me. I didn't even get upset until "Rod" kept mothing off after I told him we were done talking. UPDATE -- You should try Hyundai in Venice. I went there and had a MUCH better experience and bought a more expensive car. Used Janae Gallagher, she was pleasant.

Terrible service. Sales person was not knowledgable. She kept going to the manager for every question we had. It took 2 hours to look at one vehicle. They did not have the vehicles on their lot that we were interested in. The manager said if we commit, they can get the vehicle we want --but not giving us an exact figure. Wasted out time!!

I purchased a car cash back in March and it is now July and the dealership cannot produce the title to the vehicle. I continuously have been contacting them over the last four months and they either don’t answer the phone or give me the runaround and say it’ll be another two weeks. I would not recommend buying a car from this dealership. And they refuse to make good on producing the title to my vehicle or even keeping in contact with me to let me know what’s going on.

Put Your Pedal to the Metal... and Don't Buy From Gettel Nearly three weeks after purchasing our vehicle, we still don't have the second set of keys and key fob we were promised. They claim they sent it regular mail, an $800 key fob, and the only two backup keys for the car, and they wanted to save money and have NO TRACKING for us. What should have been a simple follow-up has turned into multiple phone calls, conflicting information, and excuses. I was told the backup keys and key fob had been mailed, only to later learn they had not been sent. At this point, I have no idea where they are, and getting answers has been nearly impossible because phone calls routinely go unanswered. Unfortunately, that post-sale experience perfectly sums up what buying a vehicle from Gettel Hyundai Sarasota was like. While we're happy with the vehicle itself, the buying experience at Gettel Hyundai Sarasota turned out to be one of the most frustrating car purchases I've ever had. The process started with confusion over what was advertised online versus what was actually available at the dealership. There were two nearly identical vehicles, and sorting out which one was being advertised became an issue that complicated the entire transaction. My salesperson, Jeanine, was excellent throughout the process. Unfortunately, once negotiations began, the experience went downhill. The vehicle we purchased had previously been a Gettel service vehicle and had never left the Gettel organization before being offered for sale as a certified used vehicle. When General Manager Chris Corriveau joined the negotiations, we found ourselves debating not only the price but also the dealership's own online advertisement. The advertised price that brought me to the dealership was lower than the price I was ultimately asked to pay. We spent a surprising amount of time arguing over a difference of roughly $100-$200. In my view, I wasn't negotiating at that point—I was simply asking to purchase the vehicle for the price that was advertised online. The bigger issue involved the equipment that was listed for the vehicle. The advertisement included: • Creamy White Pearl Paint ($500) • Cargo Net ($55) • Cargo Organizer ($120) • Cargo Tray ($120) • First Aid Kit ($40) • All-Season Fitted Liners ($260) • Mud Guards ($130) • Tow Hitch ($450) I was told these items were associated with a different vehicle and that because the car was used, Gettel was not obligated to provide them. However, the vehicle delivered to me didn't even include floor mats. When I questioned this, I was told that if an item wasn't specifically listed, it didn't come with the car. Yet when items were listed, I was told they weren't guaranteed to come with the car either. That logic simply didn't make sense. After considerable back-and-forth—and after I was prepared to walk away—the dealership reluctantly agreed to provide the cargo tray and fitted liners while refusing to provide the remaining listed accessories. The purchase took nearly five hours despite being a straightforward used-car transaction with no trade-in involved. The problems didn't end after the sale. I was owed backup keys and a key fob. I was told they had been mailed, but later learned they had not been sent. Multiple follow-up calls were required, and getting answers from the dealership proved difficult. Phone calls were routinely routed to people who didn't answer and didn't have personalized voicemail boxes. The car is great. The buying experience was not. My advice: if you're purchasing a used vehicle from Gettel Hyundai Sarasota, get every promise, accessory, key, key fob, and included item documented in writing before signing anything. Do not assume that because something is listed online or appears on the vehicle's window sticker that it will actually be included when you take delivery. Based on this experience, I would not purchase another vehicle from this dealership. Put your pedal to the metal and keep driving past Gettel.

This dealership is really strange to say the least. They show a huge inventory online and then when you want to see specific trims, they act like they can’t find half the cars, will then either show you the car they are trying to sell (like the 5 XRT) or just the base trim because “it is closer to get to.” What even is this place? Avoid. Literally wasted our time seeing nothing of value. The saleswoman also had very little knowledge of the vehicles that were not on her “gotta sell” list.

Walked in to showroom and was ignored. Left.

We have bought Hyundai's since 1999. Never once did we have any problems with them. We did an extended warranty We had them serviced when due. Last October we took our 2017 .Tucson in for oil change & the usual maintenance. There's only 63,800 miles on it. The estimate came to $15,000. Crazy right??

I traded in a vehicle and they paid it off late and basically crushed my credit, and they have done nothing to help me, i’ve called over and over for months, Save yourself the headache and go buy a vehicle somewhere else.

Their service center loves to upsell, a new battery for $579.00 😳 REALLY?? An air filter for $80.00😳 SERIOUSLY?? The air filter costs $20.00 and a new battery is $209.00. $659.00 vs $229.00 so $430.00 for charging a battery and air filter is a little more than what I call fair

i have had a myriad of electrical and noise issues over the last few years and never had an issue with getting a loaner. recently, they have had my car for nearly 2 months! apparently, they can’t keep their story straight as to what the delay was. one of the excuses was ‘an issue with my insurance’. this was a warranty issue not an accident. i suspect they tried to get reimbursed from my insurance company for the warranty loaner and were denied. 10 days later, warning lights come back on and i was told that after nearly 5 years of loaners with no problems, corporate told the dealership not to accept my insurance for any loaner cars. they claim that progressive insurance, all of a sudden and out if the blue doesn’t cover genesis loaners. unsurprisingly,progressive has denied this. it seems that the dealership has a convenient lie to tell when they are losing money dealing with a lemon.

Just did a simple inquiry on possibly trading in my current car for a new purchase with this dealer. In my inquiry, I specifically stated to please text no phone calls. Within seven minutes I had about four phone calls and three people with three different names texting. Borderline instant harassment - would never do anything with a dealer that behaves this way. The greasy car salesman schemes are no longer appealing.

I just left the service department. I needed to have a wheel lock key replaced or to have the wheel locks removed from the vehicle. This is the way that the vehicle came when my family and I purchased it from this dealership. I was told to go look online and that there was nothing they could do. We have purchased three Hyundai SUVs from this dealership I'm very disappointed.

The service staff showed little to no interest in properly assisting me. Instead, the only focus seemed to be pushing additional services and charging extra fees. I clearly stated that I did NOT want any additional work performed, yet I was still called twice and pressured again. This behavior was inappropriate and unprofessional. More importantly, basic responsibilities were completely neglected: The vehicle maintenance system was not reset, and I am still receiving service warnings. I explicitly reported an issue with the passenger-side window, yet this concern was ignored entirely and not addressed in any way.

Avoid this place. They’re friendly until the sale is done, then the customer service disappears. Financing was a nightmare it took 3 weeks just to get my tag transferred, and nothing was handled unless I complained and asked for a manager. When I finally escalated the issue to manager Angela Bailen, it was the only time I saw any movement toward a resolution. The financing lady was very pushy and got loud when I refused unnecessary add-ons. In my experience, once they have your money, they don’t care. Go somewhere else if you want your money’s worth.

Horrendous! The service salesman, Gavin, tried to upsell me $2k worth of unnecessary service when the appointment was for an oil change on a vehicle with only 15k miles. Pushy and obnoxious. I had a 1230 appointment on Saturday, never heard a word. I had to call him, only for him to attempt to bully me into more service again. I never got a call saying my car was ready, I had to just go there and say I want my car. Then waited 90 minutes, he said he lost the fob. He also thought it was a good idea to talk negative politics to a customer that he doesn't know and has no idea where they stand, potentially offending at least 50% of his customers. I felt scammed and disrespected. I have been a loyal customer for MANY years and purchased MANY vehicles form this place. My next vehicle will be the QV80, and even mentioned that to him. I will be taking my business elsewhere.

This place is horrible!!! Salesman didn’t know what they were talking about and the finance department sucks and doesn’t do what they say they are going to!! Edited to add that it’s so interesting the only reviews they respond to are positive ones. Just shows you how they run their business.

We called in to inquire about an out the door price on a vehicle and discounts that may be available. We spoke with an incredibly rude person named Anna Lisa and she told us we would need to setup an appointment and come into the dealership to get pricing. What a silly way to try and do business. We called multiple Hyundai dealerships to get pricing to try and get the best deal and this was the only one that insisted we make an appointment and come in just to be provided pricing. NO THANKS. Never do business with a dealership that is unwilling to provide information without coming in.

Bad customer service and didn’t get to my call until 3 weeks

When they took vehicle in they sent me a cost sheet which indicated my wiper blades were 21 dollars, at check out they told me they were 75 dollars and the price they sent to my phone was labor only. I will not return or ever purchase another hyundai.

Booked an appointment here for service and drove 90 minutes to show up on time. The associate told me they wouldn’t be able to see the car today and that I would have to drop it off. That absolutely wasn’t possible. They didn’t try to find a solution or offer me a rental car or anything. But then even worse, another sales associate asked me about my car and if I was interested in trading it in and looking at new cars. So I wasted 3 hours of my time and all things that got me there and back. Go to Fitzgerald Hyundai in Clearwater if you have to go to a dealer.

Mixed information nobody knows what’s going on told me my car was under warranty and then changed and said it wasn’t

I purchased a 2019 Huyandi Sante Fe from Gettlel in 2021. This year the paint started peeling off the car in quantity. I showed them the car in July. The service department couldn't be worse. The service writers are super rude (mine was a woman whose name I've blocked - she went to work at Toyota, so now I can't own a Toyota either). They never returned calls or let me know what's going on. I was in tears. As soon as I got my car back, I drove right over to another dealer and traded my Hyundai (who I LOVED) for a new car at a reputable dealership. I can't own a car that causes me so much grief/pain/illness just to fix minor thingss. She was a 2021 with only 17,000 miles.

Beware – Tried to Sell My Mom a $5,000 Turbo She Didn’t Need. My mom brought her 2011 Hyundai Sonata to Gettel Hyundai for a check engine light. They diagnosed it with a P2562 code and told her the entire turbocharger needed to be replaced for over $5,000. What they didn’t tell her is that Hyundai’s own corporate technical service bulletin (TSB 22-EM-004H) says that with this code, the first step is to replace or adjust the waste-gate actuator – a much smaller, less expensive part – and only replace the whole turbo if it’s physically damaged. We took the car to a different, honest repair shop. They followed Hyundai’s recommended procedure, replaced the waste-gate actuator, and fixed the problem for $1,000 total. The turbo did not need replacement. In my opinion, Gettel Hyundai was trying to sell my mom a $5,000 repair she did not need, which goes against Hyundai’s own guidelines. I would strongly advise getting a second opinion before approving any major repair here. Read other reviews you will see much of the same thing with this dealership.

Scheduled an appointment for a test drive with them and specifically stated I'd be driving over an hour to get there and wanted to ask a couple questions before heading over. They pretty much avoided my questions by saying all was good with the vehicle and they could explain everything in further detail if I came in person. Even though that was a bit strange to start, I went along with it and my appointment was set for the next day. The day prior to my appointment, the vehicle in question was sold. I was not contacted at all about this but just told my appointment was confirmed and to be there by noon. So I showed up just to be turned right around. It's incredibly upsetting to me that I spent that time, money, and effort for absolutely nothing when a simple few questions could be answered over the phone or by email, or at least a courtesy call to let me know I'm wasting my time. Edit: noticed another review with the exact same experience as me. They were told to come in to look at a car on sale but upon their arrival, they were told it had been sold and offered a newer morr expensive model in its place. I was offered the same. It makes me wonder if it's just a scam to get you there for a car they're not even selling and then attempt to upsell you with something else? Definitely concerning that it's happened more than once though...
